Haroon's father, Tariq Jahan, said he lost his pious son and regretted that “two days from now the whole world will forget-no one will care.” He tearfully said his hands and face were all in blood as he was trying to save the life of his 21-year-old son.
While Jahan had been shocked by the scene of his son being mown down by a speedy car and blood flowing from his body, he urged the gathered crowd to stop the violence as a token of affection and respect to the memory of his son.
Birmingham's Muslim community described the three Muslims as heroes and martyrs. Moreover, Birmingham's Muslims are furious at the police accusing them of blocking the way and hindering the ambulance crews delaying their arrival. Two of the victims died at the scene and efforts to save the last one failed when he died in hospital.
British police have already arrested four suspects one of whom has already been released on bail.
